Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

PPE is a common workplace term that stands for Personal Protective Equipment. OSHA maintains workplace standards pertaining to PPE that help ensure the health and safety of workers. PPE is specific to the job being conducted as the necessary equipment to maintain safety will vary based on the task. In general, PPE items include head protection (hard hats), eye and face protection (safety glasses), hearing protection (ear plugs) and many other categories as applicable for the particular job. It is essential that employers comply with OSHA PPE regulations to avoid workplace injuries and legal action.
