Building Envelope

The term building envelope, or building enclosure, is used to refer to the exterior structure of a building that divides the interior environment from outside condition. The building envelope is essential in maintaining a barrier to water, air, light and noise exchange from one side of the envelope to the other. Building envelope components consist of the façade, windows, doors, roof, and all other physical separators.
