Night at the (American) Museum

EBI’s Elaine Langer (project scientist/photographer/intrepid explorer) recently had the opportunity to sit in on a lecture by Alan Rabinowitz, conservation biologist, at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City.

Elaine had previously heard Rabinowitz speak at an SUNY event while she was attending college – his talk of discovering and cataloging new mammal species in Myanmar inspired Elaine to pursue a career in environmental biology.

At this current speaking engagement, Rabinowitz described his decades-long efforts to document the habitat, range and human impact of South America’s jaguar population – Rabinowitz described his mission to create preserves and corridors for the jaguars to roam freely.
